Beauty pageants

Another useless study has been published in a peer-reviewed journal, with the title “Body mass index and waist: hip ratio are not enough to characterize female attractiveness.”⁽¹⁾  Duh!  Amazingly, even the editor and peer-reviewers allowed this title.

This should have been posted months ago, but better late than never.  I need to post this before addressing the recently concluded Miss World 2007 pageant.

Male impersonators pretending to be or maids representing the contestants from U.S. Virgin Islands, Slovenia and Belgium, respectively?

The 2005 Miss World beauty pageant has once again featured plenty of masculinized contestants, and some comments in this regard are relevant.
